ABOUT THE LESSONS
How does a course Avec Céline works?
1. Your learning goals and the practicability of your project are discussed
and a learning proposition is made.
2. A week before it starts, the date of the next lesson is planned in order to facilitate
a good continuity of the learning process and enough time for homework.
3. A digital invoice is sent at the start of the planning.
4. The lesson starts and finishes on time,
5 If needed, personal homework is sent by email to the student,
who sends his task back 24h before the next lesson.
6. An evaluation of achieved progres with future goals is made monthly,
when the student requires it.
7. The outcome of each objective is being assessed, and if required a nieuw invoice is made.

"FRENCH BRAIN"
I advise beginners to study during 90 minutes in order to give just enough time to develop a “French part of the brain”: the more intensive, the more effective. People are learning quicker when they are immersed in the country self, that’s also possible from your computer.
Skype and Teams are efficient and practical programs to work online because of the chat and file sharing functions.
Create an account with your email address, a good internet connection, earplugs, microphone and let's go!
“Natural learning”
The key to qualitative communication is hearing and learning words and sentences that matches our own perception and experience.
In order to do so I am writing a personal vocabulary list during each lesson in the ‘chat’ window during the conversation.
Mnemonic devises are another example of natural learning, learning has to be fun and easy.
Repetition is the key to succes, so I don't mind repeating, it's a very important part of the job!
Personal learning
If you know how to learn efficiently, you’ve already made a big step ahead, that's why our own learning style is taken into account.
Repeating again and again is a part of an effective learning process, and many supporting resources are used to do so: images, short films, articles, stories, songs and the news...
and our own life themes of course, chit-chat in French is also an important part of the learning process.
Linguistic references and learning goals
The lessons are based on The Common European Framework of Reference (C.E.F.R) in order to define language levels of competence.
I can figure out your level after the first lesson.
For more information, check the explanation The C.E.F.R in short here under.
Grammar
It is the bone structure of any language and essential to learn French. She is simply explained and continuously studied in a playful way during the course.

4 language competences
4 language competences
Each learning process starts with passive learning (reading and listening) and devellop to active learning (writing and talking). Many people find the switch from passive to active challenging. This is the reason why only French is spoken during the lessons, and students are constantly encouraged to answer in French. Written exercises are also part of active learning and regularly practiced as homework.
Two different French languages
The differences between spoken and written French are automatically studied. The practice of pronunciation with simple connections between sounds and syllables makes it easy to remember and training your "french ear"
“Have an ear for language?”
Everyone can learn a language, only the rhythm is different, some people are learning quicker than others. Challenge is an important motivational factor for each learning process.
The common European Framework of Reference (C.E.F.R) in short
Level A1
You are looking for simple notions to describe the direct environment that surrounds you: what you are and what you see.
Like this baby you are occupied with direct observations and your interlocutor has to make efforts to repeat slowly and articulate to communicate with you.
Level A2
Your knowledge of the language is enough to "throw yourself into the bath" and to discuss with your direct enviornment.
You can engage in short and concise discussions but it is still difficult to speak spontaneously.
Level B1
You can now express yourself clearly about your close surroundings and environments and say what you think or what you feel about it. You are capable of having a simple conversation correctly and simply.
You are still looking for more confidence in your words and still have to get used to quick conversations.
Level B2
Like a pirate you are adventuring yourself içnto rough waters, developing a more detailed vocabulary and using more
complicated sentence structures. You are now more spontaneous and can speak with ease without looking for words.
Level C1
You're starting to be a specialist in details and can distinguish literal from figural language.
You can read between the lines in an unstructered context. You can talk about a wide range of topics without having to look for words and express yourself clearly
and spontaneously in a discussion.
Level C2
Language has no secrets for you any more, no matter which register or field. You can make subtle jokes and communicate effortlessly about any topic.
You don't need any French course because you can express yourself as well (or even better) than the average native.
